Name: Zhao Yunlan
Canon: Guardian (drama)
Soul Colour: Bronze-y yellow (#c9aa0a)
Soul Brightness: Very stubborn and strong-willed, but not particularly physically or magically powerful -- about average brightness.
Additional Info: Zhao Yunlan has some real Weirdness going on in his personal energy structure. He has noticeable corrosion of his normal life energy, supported by a structure of "dark energy" (a special power from his canon: visually it's got kind of a black-with-violet-and-green-aura thing going) that's working to compensate for the damage, plus his soul has been used as the wick of the "Guardian Lantern," which is a device that channels energy through a volunteer's soul, at the cost of said volunteer's life and eternal burning agony. This probably looks... fiery. Or scorched.

Basically: normal on the outside, "what the fuck have you been doing to yourself" on the inside.

Canon: Original Character (...Classic World of Darkness tabletop setting, Vampire: the Masquerade character)
Soul Colour: Reddish-orange / orangeish-red
Soul Brightness: It would be very bright (unseasonably strong-willed -- as much as you can mechanically be in-system -- and a quite powerful vampire, though heavily restricted by the Barge at the moment), but...
Additional Info: According to her own canon's aura-viewing: aura is pale (vampire) and streaked with black veins (diablerist / soul-eater) -- up to you if that transfers to soul sight in any way, I just think it'd be neat.

Canon: Malevolent
Soul Colour: Cobalt blue - but, because of the nature of his soul, it is distinctly cut through with yellow-gold. This is predominantly centred on his eyes, but it also flows through the rest of his body unhampered and apparently welcome.
Soul Brightness: Average-but-bright for a human! He's exceptionally stubborn and contrarian, which I don't know if that affects it at all.
Additional Info: Arthur's soul is fucking bizarre because it's very obviously tied to John Doe's/aka a fragment of the King in Yellow's, but despite that he actively doesn't draw from it and is like. The bare minimum it's even possible to be changed by such an intense connection.

Soul Colour: Pink!
Soul Brightness: shine bright like a diamond Intense, on par with an extremely high level summon or a minor deity.

Soul Colour: Dark red yes like blood, the same colour as his eyes.
Soul Brightness: A vampire, whatever that means in terms of powers. So distinctly brighter as a baseline than a standard human, but not particularly strong in and of himself.

Canon: OC
Soul Colour: Navy, though maybe it’s closer to black at the center and closer to blue at the edges.
Soul Brightness: They’re not very strong-willed and their emotions are muted, so there wouldn’t be much brightness on that front. Their personal magic also isn’t particularly powerful, but the realm that created them is basically straight-up magic. Since they can shapeshift, their physical strength depends on the body they’re using. So maybe their soul is dimmer overall, but it has brighter patches or it’s brighter when they’re using their powers, or something like that.
Additional Info: In their home realm, they don’t have a body, but they do have some sort of magical energy at their core. They have enough of that energy to mostly keep their powers in the Rift, and for their magic to “remember” how it normally works outside of the Rift. They also have enough of a spirit to keep their memories and consciousness when they don’t have a body or when they’re sharing someone/something else’s. Hythlodaeus will be able to sense that something like a soul is sort of holding their mind together, but it won’t feel like a soul, exactly.

Canon: Marvel 616
Soul Colour: In canon, her aura is shown as pink, gold and red depending on the artist/her mood.
Soul Brightness: Wildly, ridiculously bright. She's a passionately stubborn sorcerer, and also...
Additional Info: Madelyne's soul is actually a shard of the Phoenix Force, because superhero comics. Hythlodaeus is fully welcome to notice how weird this is.

Name: Cloud Strife
Canon: FFVII Advent Children
Soul Colour: Sky blue that's sort of stained with eerie mako-green
Soul Brightness: Much brighter than one might expect, between the ability to limit break (thanks to nigh-superhuman tenacity) and so much mako, but dimmer than it should be, thanks to geostigma. Hyth is welcome to notice that there's a discrepancy there.
Additional Info: So, mako is made of souls from the Lifestream, and Cloud's body and mind is chock full of it, down to the cellular level. We're told in canon that the voices of the planet tend to scream in agony when they're distilled down into mako...so if you want Hyth to be able to pick that up, go for it.

Cloud's also got a psychic, mimetic space virus spliced into his DNA, which...unclear whether Jenova has a soul or not, but she definitely has a presence, not sure if that would show up to soul sight. Also, if Hyth ever gets a look at Sephiroth's soul, Cloud's would have traces of it imprinted on his own, like an echo. At the very least, Hyth can tell that something about Cloud's soul/energy thinks he's part of some larger entity and there's a certain gravity to it. But that's only one part of him - the rest of his soul is bright and individual and very human.

Soul Colour: The same blue as his constellation
Soul Brightness: Pretty dang bright! Especially given his magical prowess and general specialty in creation magic.
Additional Info: While he has put back the part of his soul that once comprised Hephaistos, if one looks close there's still kind of a faint crack, as if it had been put back somewhat imperfectly.

Canon: Our Flag Means Death
Soul Colour: Aquamarine
Soul Brightness: Stede is exceptionally strong willed and driven by love and acts of love, but he also struggles with his self worth. He masks a lot of his pain and fakes it until he hopefully makes it. He's one of the luckiest bastards out there, but he's a normal human being.
Additional Info: There should be nothing strange about Stede; he isn't superpowered, he's just an average 18th century man with strange circumstances.

Name: Wiktor Szulski
Canon: The Thaumaturge
Soul Colour: Bright crimson red, but there is also a lot more in there. Will explain.
Soul Brightness: Wiktor is a thaumaturge, which itself probably makes him a little brighter than average. But on top of that, he has about... seven more salutors than anyone else has ever had without completely losing their mind. Salutors themselves are the collection of belief and emotion of the people in a region coalesced around the stories of gods/monsters/folktales and they attach themselves to people who have Flaws that match up with their hungers. Wiktor, to collect these others, has taken the Flaws from other people and implanted them in himself. He is *also* intrinsically connected with three other thaumaturges (who each have their own salutor) as part of a ritual that bound them together for the rest of their lives which is why he's still mentally stable. TLDR He's probably *very* bright and *very* mixed color-wise. In fact, given the Coterie thing, he might look almost like an unsundered soul.

Canon: The Monster of Elendhaven
Soul Colour: Lime Green
Soul Brightness: Strongwilled: check. Great magic at his fingertips: check. Physically powerful? as a vampire, check.
Additional Info: Vampire thing might mess with it? Dunno. Also was essentially 'chosen' by a goddess so that might do something too. Might add a dash of black or blue (ocean death goddess). Also grew up in a city that was filled with magic pollution (so more black)

Soul Colour: Gold yellow (on the redder end of things) though kind of... shifting too
Soul Brightness: Half of a Great Old One/God. So. Probably pretty goshdarn bright. Probably on par with an Ancient at least? Canon is... questionable.
Additional Info: The color never stays exactly the same. Whether this is because as the King he is always a little different to different people or because John is actively forging who he is and what he is as he goes, unknown. There is also the chance there's stuff unknown about him in canon because ongoing canons do that

Name: Max Thompson
Canon: Dead by Daylight
Soul Colour: Sunshine yellow... shot with black
Soul Brightness: He's very physically strong and has been augmented by the Entity (essentially the Endsinger) to have a few abilities. Possibly dimmed by abuse.
Additional Info: Nothing else!

Name: Vincent Smith
Canon: Silent Hill 3
Soul Colour: Leaf green
Soul Brightness: Slightly brighter than average. Evidence supports that he was esoterically experimented with as a child but never showed magical talent in life. He does have some scarification on him that might show which is used to keep him safe during times of the Silent Hill bullshit happening so those might be visible.
Additional Info: Has been chosen as a priest to Kahl at this point, so probably has marks of red around his shoulders and near his heart that is brighter than the rest.

Canon: Jujutsu Kaisen
Soul Colour: the specific weird, runny silver of liquid mercury
Soul Brightness: He's an immortal manifestation of primal hatred and terror, probably pretty bright
Additional Info: Mahito is supposed to be a shape shifter who plays with souls like the bad kid from toy story, including his own. He's under a lot of restrictions on the barge, so I imagine his soul comes across like a small animal throwing a tantrum in a pet carrier.

Canon: The Craft
Soul Colour: Silver
Soul Brightness: Very bright.
Additional Info: Nancy is imbued with the power of her god, which would probably show in the shading of her soul - look at it at the right angle, and that silver looks more like a storm cloud, or like the glint of light off water, or like a vein of actual silver or mercury than anything a mortal should have. It's different enough from a Primal that it probably couldn't be mistaken for one given Hythlodaeus's high level of perception, but there might be certain similarities.
