We need to have a plan for if Trevor succeeds, [Steven says.]

I can't stop him, I can't control him, I can't control anybody else, but I can beg people to help with this, so - that's what I'm doing.

[There's a small tilt of his head and a concerned hum as he guides Steven over to the sitting area and passes a cup of tea over.]

The situation has been thoroughly discussed, to my knowledge, and I believe several contingencies are already in place... but it is somewhat concerning that he appears to sincerely believe that he can succeed in spite of the number of eyes on him.

[A little sigh. Hythlodaeus is not close enough to any individuals involved to make much impact and has been leaving the talking to those who would be better suited for it.

He is, however, ready for what might happen.]

[A little exhale. He doesn't have to pull up his comm to remember, though he will if Steven wants to double check...]

It has been noted by multiple people that Trevor has been leaving suspicious parcels around the ship, as well as inscribing runes in the chapel and in places on the deck. The former are being... collected, with several wardens using means at their disposal to track them down. There has also been discussion of warding the ship magically against damage and threats by those capable of doing so, and of ensuring that any healers - magical or otherwise - on board are appropriately dispersed.

[Sigh. He shakes his head.]

I am aware that many people have tried to talk to the man. I have not met him, so I have been leaving that task to those more familiar with his state of mind.

What are we going to tell the inmates? And when? And what do we do if we can't stop him?

From my understanding, and my observation, this place holds a kind of power that would not be easily taken down by the likes of Trevor. Can he do damage? Perhaps, depending on his resources, but as for his ability to completely destroy the Barge and even get close enough to the Admiral to inflict harm upon him... I doubt it, very much.

[Not that it makes the possibility any less concerning, but he's sure better and more powerful people than Trevor have tried and failed in such things.]

As for telling everyone not yet aware there is a problem, if that is being organised then it is happening behind doors closed to me as well. Trevor, I believe, has been making his intentions clear for some time now.

I don't want to dismiss this as oh he won't be able to. I want a plan in case he can, because -

He could be, and it is important that the possibility isn't dismissed.

[Attempting to validate Steven's concerns without feeding into his panic.]

But please don't feel like you have to take on all of this alone. There are many people concerned about what he may try to do.

Then why hasn't anyone smarter than me done it yet? Made a -a contingency plan, made sure it'll all be okay?

[There's an undercurrent here of not trusting that anyone will ever be there, when things get really bad. When things are just beginning to get bad, sure, plenty of friends. But when they get really bad, you're alone.]

[He doesn't have an answer. Or, at least, not an answer that is going to fully satify this level of concern.]

There is only so much that can be done when so many things are still unknown. What is important is that we don't try and tackle it by ourselves.
